Take a Breather

Stop what you are doing.

Now take a deep breath. That’s right, a big inhale, filling your belly with air, breathing deeply through your nose.

Relax your jaw.

Relax your forehead.

Relax your shoulders.

Relax your neck.

Really try to connect to your body in this moment. What is it telling you? Are there any specific pains you are feeling? Is there a body part you are most aware of right now. Listen in. Is there a message in it?

Inhale. Exhale.

That’s right, you’re doing it. You’re calming your nervous system down, taking this moment to focus on your breath.

Now repeat after me: “I deserve to honor my body by listening to it.”
