Practicing a Month in Review

Practicing a Month in Review

Month in Review is a beautiful ritual that perfectly complements the practice of Setting Monthly Intentions. At the end of each month, you get to reflect back on what that previous month taught you. Everything is fodder for the soul, right? Then so are our goals, intentions, and the months that we live them out. There is always something to glean from if we pause for a moment and reflect. We just have to give it that space. That is what practicing a Month in Review is for.

Instead of watching our days fly by, be able to see how we grew this month and where we might need to add a little more love and compassion, is a beautiful way to become more mindful. The premise is simple. At the end of each month, sit down with your journal and favorite set of pens and get honest about what you are learning/have learned.

The questions I ask myself during my Month in Review are:

1. What did I learn this month?

2. What am I most grateful for this month?

3. What do I want to release/let go of going into this next month?

Make sure you set aside enough time to thoughtfully answer these questions and think about the month that is ending. You can also use this time to create your Monthly Intentions right after you finish.
